Organizations achieve EMRAM Stage 7
Despite few successful attestations for Meaningful Use Stage 2, several organizations have been recognized by HIMSS Analytics for achieving Stage 7 on the EMR Adoption Model, which evaluates the progress and impact of EMR systems for hospitals. Stage 7 represents an advanced patient record environment.
During the third quarter of 2014, only 3.4 percent of the more than 5,400 U.S. hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics® Database received the Stage 7 Award.
Facilities that have recently achieve Stage 7 include the following:
- Ochsner Medical Center-North Shore in Slidell, La., the only hospital to receive this designation across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee.
- Two UT Southwestern University Medical Center hospitals, Zale Lipshy University Hospital and St. Paul University Hospital, in Dallas. Six of the university’s associated ambulatory clinics in Dallas and Fort Worth, also received Stage 7 Ambulatory Awards.
- Edward W. Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich., and 29 of its associated ambulatory clinics.
- Three Healthe at Cerner clinics, located in Kansas City, Mo. Since opening in 2006, the Healthe Clinic has provided onsite care to Cerner associates and their families as is a medical home.
- Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, Ontario, is the first hospital to receive a Stage 7 Award in Canada, and the first Stage 7 behavioral health facility.
The organizations will be recognized at the 2015 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition next April in Chicago.
