NYU Langone Medical Centers earns both Stage 7 hospital and ambulatory recognition
HIMSS Analytics has awarded NYU Langone Medical Center’s Tisch Hospital, Rusk Rehabilitation and Hospital for Joint Diseases with its Stage 7 Award, and NYU Langone’s ambulatory practices with its Stage 7 Ambulatory Award.
This is the first hospital enterprise in New York State to receive these prestigious awards.
Stage 7 of the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM), a measurement of a hospital's implementation and utilization of IT applications, indicates an advanced patient record environment.
“The Stage 7 awards signify the highest and most optimized level of EHR adoption in NYU Langone's hospital setting and across the ambulatory network, which includes leveraging and governing health data and analytics, computer order entry & electronic documentation, paperless registration, and patient engagement,” said Nader Mherabi, senior vice president and vice dean, chief information officer at NYU Langone Medical Center. “The technology both demands and enables precise information sharing between healthcare providers and patients, and is critical to achieving NYU Langone’s commitment to providing world-class medicine.”
During the fourth quarter of 2015, only 4.2 percent of the more than 5,400 U.S. hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics Logic market intelligence received the Stage 7 Award, and only 7.89 percent of the more than 36,000 ambulatory clinics in HIMSS Analytics Logic received the Stage 7 Ambulatory Award.
NYU Langone Medical Center will be recognized at the 2017 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in Orlando.
