New leadership at HIMSS EHR Association

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) EHR Association has elected Carl Dvorak as its new chairman and Charles Jarvis as its new vice chair, along with executive committee election results based on voting by the full membership during May and June.

Dvorak is the executive vice president of Epic Systems, while Jarvis is the vice president of healthcare services and government relations for NextGen Healthcare Information Systems. Both will begin their one-year terms on July 1.

The association is comprised of 44 companies that supply the vast majority of EHRs in use in hospitals and physicians practices in the U.S., according to the Chicago-based HIMSS.

Re-elected to the executive committee for two-year terms are Rick Reeves, senior manager, product development services at CPSI; Jacob Reider, MD, CMIO, AllScripts; and Mickey McGlynn, director, government and industry affairs for Siemens Healthcare. Pamela Chapman, director of clinical product management for eMDs, also joins the executive committee as a new member with a one-year term.
