Mirth Connect Earns 2014 ONC HIT Certification

COSTA MESA, Calif.--Mirth, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a global leader in health information technology, announced today that Mirth® Connect version 3.0.1 is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Module on May 1, 2014 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Providers (Ambulatory) certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ONC 2014 Edition criteria support both Stage 1 and 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“Having just received certification under the hospital criteria last month, we view this certification for ambulatory providers as a natural progression,” said Jon Teichrow, senior vice president of research and development for Mirth. "We believe that receiving 2014 ONC HIT Certification of Mirth Connect version 3.0.1 for both inpatient and ambulatory care settings serves as a testament to our product’s position as one of the most innovative interoperability tools in the Health IT market."

The ONC HIT Certification Program certifies that EHRs meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria and that EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for hospital technology.

“CCHIT congratulates companies that successfully achieve EHR technology certification,” said Alisa Ray, executive director, CCHIT. “These companies are now able to make their products available to providers wishing to adopt health IT to demonstrate Meaningful Use and earn federal incentives.”

The certification number for Mirth Connect version 3.0.1 is CC-2014-100112-1. The public test report is available here: https://cchit.box.com/s/x0xc6qpn2iq6vqvfd8x9

Cardiovascular devices are more likely to be in a Class I recall than any other device type. The FDA's approval process appears to be at least partially responsible, though the agency is working to make some serious changes. We spoke to a researcher who has been tracking these data for years to learn more.

Updated compensation data includes good news for multiple subspecialties. The new report also examines private equity's impact on employment models and how much male cardiologists earn compared to females.

When drugs are on the FDA’s shortage list, outsourcing facilities can produce their own compounded versions. When the FDA removed tirzepatide from that list with no warning, it created a considerable amount of chaos both behind the scenes and in pharmacies all over the country.
