Michigan childrens hospital chooses Shimadzu DR technology

The University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital has selected the Mobile DaRt Evolution with CXDI-60C, a digital mobile x-ray system by Shimadzu Medical Systems for installation in the Hospital’s Holden neonatal intensive care unit.

The DR system includes a detachable detector cable, an ultrasonic source-to-patient distance dose calculator allowing for dose reduction and a 9-inch x 11-inch cesium iodide flat-panel detector, ideal for newborns, said the Kyoto, Japan-based company.

Livonia, Mich.-based Mikron Digital Imaging-Midwest, a representative of Shimadzu, provided the technology to the hospital,  established system protocols  and performed applications training for the staff.
