KLAS: Merger frustrates Allscripts and Misys customers

Health IT developer Allscripts' customer rapport has dwindled following its merger last year with Misys, a report published Nov. 11 by market research firm KLAS found.

The report stated that the Chicago-based firm has faced considerable challenges and disappointed customers in several areas--most notably in customer and technical support.

According to KLAS, the Nov. 11 report analyzed the opinions of 200 Allscripts customers and found they had significant struggles with the company’s EMR version 11 platform. It found that because of the merger, Misys' clients were shifted to Allscripts solutions, which created a great deal of frustration within this group.

On a bright note for the firm, KLAS reported that the majority of Misys customers said that they would stay with Allscripts and 85 percent said that they would instead swap their EMR technology for AllScripts’ Professional EHR.
