Kansas REC selects e-MDs as vendor partner

The Kansas Foundation for Medical Care (KFMC), which serves as the federally designated Health IT Regional Extension Center (HITREC) for the state of Kansas, and works with physicians to improve the quality of healthcare provided in the state, has chosen e-MDs as an EHR vendor partner.

e-MDs will work with KFMC to facilitate the adoption of EHR technology throughout Kansas and ensure purchasing power for the state’s healthcare providers, the Austin, Texas-based company stated. As a selected vendor, e-MDs will help providers manage efficient implementation and achievement of meaningful use in a cost-effective manner.

The Kansas EMR Steering Committee identified e-MDs as being capable of offering Kansas providers optimal financial opportunities by adding the e-MDs Solution Series EHR system to their practice. e-MDs was recognized as a Tier One vendor, capable of offering products that satisfy Stage 1 meaningful use criteria and offer a set of support services to both the KFMC and contracting providers, the company stated.

Selected EHR vendors have agreed to offer REC participants reduced equipment costs, consulting support costs, software costs, greater control over contract terms, pre-negotiated standard contracts and technical support for primary care providers.
