Hospital sues EHR vendor for system installation failure
A small Montana hospital is suing an EHR vendor for failure to install “in excess of” $441,000 in electronic equipment as promised, according to the Helena Independent Record.
A Sept. 28, 2013, lawsuit filed by Mountainview Medical Center (MVMC) in White Sulphur Springs, alleges that NextGen Healthcare Information Systems failed to install a certified health record system by June 1, 2013 as mandated by their contract, according to the article.
MVMC agreed to an extension until Oct. 1, but learned before then that the company did not have a system that complies with federal standards.
“At no time on or before Oct.1, 2013, did NextGen appear, attempt to install and make operational a certified EHR system at MVMC,” the lawsuit stated.
