ATLANTA–At the HIMSS10 conference this week, McKesson displayed a variety of EHR software ranging from systems for large hospitals and networks to products for small physician practices.

McKesson of San Fransisco, is developing further physician documentation functions for its Paragon hospital information system. The new software is expected to assist with clinical productivity and documentation. In addition, the company is working to expand connectivity and help customers achieve meaningful use, said David Henriksen, senior vice president and general manager of Physician Practice Solutions at McKesson.

Also at HIMSS, RelayHealth, McKesson’s connectivity company, and NXT launched their first demonstration of a standards-based clinical data exchange, linking a patient health record (PHR) with a mock federal medical facility on the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN).

Spartanburg regional Regional Healthcare System, a non-profit system in Spartanburg, S.C., tested the prototype using the federally developed CONNECT open source software, which is designed to support Nationwide Health Information Registry (NHIN) access. The prototype was demonstrated at HIMSS10’s Interoperability Showcase.
