HIMSS: Imprivata annouces new products and strategic partnerships

Imprivata announced a host of new products and industry partnerships at HIMSS11 in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 21-24. Designed to accelerate the adoption of EMR applications and help healthcare providers achieve meaningful use, the new products and partnerships focus on three key areas: virtualization, mobility and clinician workflow.

Imprivata introduced OneSign Anywhere, single sign-on and authentication software that enables users to connect to EMRs and other healthcare applications from any location and any mobile device.

In addition, the Lexington, Mass.-based company announced a partnership with technology developer Teradici to integrate Imprivata's OneSign authentication and single sign-on software into PCoIP zero clients, ultra-thin client devices that initialize the network and manage the server's output display, rather than running a full operating system.

The Imprivata-enabled devices will let healthcare providers deploy VMware View virtual desktops with secure, rich-media zero clients that provide clinicians with one-touch desktop roaming and strong authentication.

Imprivata also announced OneSign Virtual Desktop Access will be integrated into Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing platform for Dell healthcare customers using VMware View.

Epic is integrating Imprivata's OneSign into Epic’s authentication application programming interface (API). API-level integration with EpicCare will help speed clinician access, streamline workflow and simplify compliance with meaningful use requirements for computerized provider order entry (CPOE), Imprivata stated.
