Greenway EHR gets nod for Vermont Regional Extension Center

Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) has selected Greenway Medical Technologies' PrimeSuite as a preferred EHR partner.

VITL is a non-profit organization created to help the Vermont medical community fully leverage the advantages of health IT. More than 1,100 healthcare providers across Vermont will utilize the Regional Extension Center (REC) program, which is funded by a $6.7 million grant by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC).

PrimeSuite is a single database EHR, practice management and interoperability technology.

Overall, the national Department of Health and Human Services' REC program has granted $677 million to establish 62 centers, linking group practices, critical access hospitals, community health centers and related healthcare organizations through sustainable two-year grants to deploy EHRs in those settings and to connect healthcare organizations and establish meaningful use functionality.
