Emdeon 'EHR Lite' certified for Stage 1 by Drummond

Emdeon Clinician, a component of the Emdeon Office Suite, has been Module-certified to meet Stage 1 criteria for meaningful use by the Drummond Group.

Emdeon Clinician is subscription-based, web-native software-as-a-service. It functions as an “EHR lite,” enabling providers to meet meaningful use without re-engineering their entire practice workflow, the Nashville, Tenn., company stated.

Emdeon Clinician can be used as a standalone service or as an integrated module within Emdeon Office Suite, a web-based application that handles administrative and clinical processes, including eligibility and benefits verification, claims and payment management, patient billing and payment. Together, Emdeon Office and Emdeon Clinician provide a suite of clinical, financial and administrative capabilities in a single-sign-on portal, according to the company.

The Drummond Group, an ONC-Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB), certifies complete EHRs as well as EHR modules, such as Emdeon Clinician, for both ambulatory and inpatient settings.
