CMS releases full quality measures for Stage 2 MU

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted the full set of clinical quality measures included in the proposed rule for Stage 2 of meaningful use (MU) of EMRs on its website.

Acting as an assist to the public in providing feedback on the measures, the information contains measures and additional data for eligible providers, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals on each measure.

“Some of these measures are still in development; therefore, the descriptions provided may change before the final rule is published,” the agency noted. “When possible, links have been provided to for measures that have corresponding information on the National Quality Forum (NQF) website. If a measure does not have an NQF number, it means that measure has not yet been endorsed.”

The agency currently is testing the submission of quality measures data from EHRs for physicians and other healthcare professionals and will soon be testing with hospitals, according to its website.

Public comment on the measures and the proposed rule, available on the CMS website, will be collected through May 7.
