CMS issues Stage 2 guidance

New guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services addresses Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements related to summary of care, clinical summary and patient electronic access to their records.

The four-page guidance sheet aims to aid eligible professionals by outlining the required data elements and provides additional guidance, according to CMS. “While some of the data elements are common between these three objectives, other data elements are individual to each objective.”

The guidance details specific information requirements for each measure, includes reminders of timelines and notes when information does not have to be shared.

Access the guidance is available here.
