Carestream takes orders for first mobile DR retrofits

Carestream Health is now taking orders for the DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kit that allows healthcare providers to upgrade selected mobile x-ray systems to wireless DRX-1 technology.

The first wave of x-ray systems that can be retrofitted include GE [Healthcare] AMX-4, GE AMX-4 Plus, Siemens [Healthcare] Mobilett Plus, Siemens Mobilett XP and Siemens Mobilett XP Hybrid. Additional retrofit kits are in development.

Among the cassette-size wireless detector’s advantages are increased on-site staff productivity and immediate access to images for improved patient care, especially for critically ill patients in emergency rooms, operating rooms and the ICU. Images also can be forwarded to multiple network destinations for rapid diagnosis and thus a quick start to treatment.

Retrofit deliveries will start this summer.
