Harris unveils NHIN CONNECT installation wizard
Harris has released an open-source CONNECT installation wizard to reduce the time required to link healthcare organizations to the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN).
The CONNECT open-source application is a gateway to the NHIN enabling federal agencies and private sector health entities to securely exchange electronic patient information, according to Harris.
Developed by Harris under contract for the Federal Health Architecture within the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, the CONNECT wizard provides step-by-step instructions for installing the NHIN gateway, the Melbourne, Fla.-based company stated.
The wizard completes tasks that previously had to be handled manually, like modifying configuration settings, and determines if any additional software is needed for installation and downloads and installs the appropriate files, Harris added.
