Dell, AMA pair up for EMR and health exchange platform

The American Medical Association (AMA) and Dell are collaborating for health IT adoption for such technologies as EMRs, e-prescribing and laboratory services through the AMA’s new health information solutions platform for physicians.

The association said its platform is aimed at helping practicing physicians assess and meet their clinical and practice needs, providing physicians access to information, products, services and resources to help facilitate medical practice and ease adoption of health IT.

The platform is currently being beta tested in Michigan in collaboration with the East Lansing-based Michigan State Medical Society and will launch in the U.S. later this year, according to AMA.
