Axolotl nets contract with Central N.Y. RHIO
The RHIO Health Advancement Collaborative of Central New York (HAC-CNY) has signed a multi-year agreement with Axolotl to deploy its Elysium Exchange suite to build a clinical health information exchange (HIE) network to connect central New York’s healthcare providers.
According to the San Jose, Calif.-based Axolotl, Elysium Exchange will network the region’s hospital health information systems and EMRs located in physician practices for clinical interoperability.
Physicians will be able to communicate directly from their EMR and HIE without using a drop box or any specialized hardware device in their practice, according to Axolotl. In addition, the Elysium Virtual Health Record will provide authorized physicians access to a complete longitudinal chart, the HIE company stated.
The initial providers sharing patient information include four Syracuse-area hospitals, four primary-care practices and the Laboratory Alliance of Central New York. Beginning in 2011, HAC-CNY intends to expand the HIE to include other central New York community providers, Axolotl added.
