Patient information safety is a major concern when sharing health data. Mobile identifications, used for smartphones and other devices, could be the digital padlock healthcare providers have been searching for.

Mobile identifiers can be used to detect unique devices, which could be a safe method of producing patient ID cards. Filled with each patient’s full medical record, these ID cards offer a high level of control on private information and increase security due to the fact they only work when presented with the owner’s permission.
