Keeping employees engaged could reduce data breaches

The healthcare industry has ground to cover in the field of cybersecurity. While health systems are investing time and money in technological solutions, an article in the Harvard Business Review argues the solution lies in the human element of security.

The healthcare industry saw a 60 percent increase in data breaches in the first two months of 2018 compared to the prior year. Additionally, only 53 percent of healthcare and public security decision-makers reported a breach.

Harvard researchers believe the solution to protecting patient data could be in keeping employees engaged in healthcare data security.
