Google announces blockchain development

Google has now announced it is developing blockchain solutions aimed at ensuring the safety of its cloud systems.

Blockchain, the digital ledger for recording online transactions, ensures data is transferred and stored securely. For Google, the development of blockchain into its cloud-based services would build trust in their ability to protect their user’s information. Specifically, the Alphabet, the parent company of Google, is developing its own blockchain ledger for third parties to utilize in recording and verifying transactions.

“Like many new technologies, we have individuals in various teams exploring potential uses of blockchain but it’s way too early for us to speculate about any possible uses or plans,” a Google spokesman told Bloomberg.
