In the recent Medical Group Management Association’s (MGMA) Stat poll, 55 percent of healthcare professionals believe their organization's information technology (IT) infrastructure was secure against cyberattacks.

The poll of 1,249 professionals looked at practice management topics, impacts of legislation and factors dealing with health IT and security.

Findings included:

• 55 percent of professionals believe their information technology (IT) infrastructure was secure against cyberattacks, 15 percent are working on it and 15 percent said no.
• 30 percent of respondents said a cyberattack has been attempted; 54 percent do not believe they have been attacked.
• 74 percent of doctors do not offer digital health services like telehealth and remote care; 18 percent said they do.
• 81 percent of practices do not use data from patient’s wearable technology; 6 percent of patients share data from wearables during office visits or through patient portals.
