ONC announces new round of fellows

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has welcomed its latest group of health IT fellows.

The 12 fellows are joining a team of more than 60 healthcare leaders to leverage health IT in their communities. As health IT champions, they will work with state and local partners to promote open and productive dialogue, including working with a local providers and practices to help them leverage Meaningful Use, according to ONC.

Members of the incoming class, include:

  • Tobe Fisch, MD, PhD of Plainsboro, N.J.
  • Allison Foley, MD of Orange, Calif.
  • David O'Hara of Westchester, N.Y.
  • Sharon Phelps, RN of Cody, Wyo.
  • S. Shafiq Rab, MD of Hackensack, N.J.
  • Matthew Rafalski, MD of Jellico, Tenn.
  • Michael Rakotz, MD of Chicago, Ill.
  • Angela D. Scott of Russell Springs, Ky.
  • Sanjay Seth, MD of Piscataway, N.J.
  • Dennis Ward of Portsmouth, Ohio
  • William Wulf, MD of Columbus, Ohio

“[W]e are thrilled to have such a strong and diverse cohort moving into our second year as a program,” according to the agency.
