Azalea Health Honored as "Emerging Company of the Year" at Health IT Leadership Summit

Atlanta, GA, November 20, 2014 -- Azalea Health, a leading provider of cloud-based healthcare solutions and services, was named the 2014 Emerging Company of the Year awarded by the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) at the 5th Annual Health IT Leadership Summit at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center. CEO and Co-founder, Baha Zeidan, received the prestigious Phoenix Award, which recognizes companies and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the Health IT industry in Georgia.

"We're excited to honor Azalea Health with this award and recognize their innovative approach to streamlining processes for physicians," said David Hartnett, Vice President, Economic Development, Industry Expansion, Metro Atlanta Chamber. "Azalea Health’s comprehensive, cloud-based solutions and services are allowing physicians to focus on quality of care and their patients’ needs rather than on software.”

The Phoenix Award represents the iconic “rising from the ashes” of the Phoenix — a symbol of strength, tenacity and leadership. The award was given in four categories: Startup Company of the Year, Emerging Company of the Year, Community Leader of the Year, and University Advancement of the Year.

“I am honored to accept the Phoenix Emerging Company of the Year Award on behalf of the Azalea Health team,” said Baha Zeidan, CEO and Co-founder of Azalea Health. “The entire company, our partners, and our customers have collaborated in our success. We provide a cost effective, completely integrated solution that improves a practice’s workflow, and enables physicians to focus on providing quality healthcare to their community.”

The awards, given annually during the Health IT Leadership Summit, were created by MAC in recognition of the major role the health IT industry plays in Georgia’s economy. The health IT industry in Georgia leads the nation with more than 250 companies and over 30,000 jobs.

The Health IT Leadership Summit, one of the nation’s premier health IT events, was founded in 2010 by three organizations to support the growth of the health IT industry: the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Metro Atlanta Chamber and Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Health.
