AI robot passes medical licensing exam
An artificial intelligence-powered robot in China has taken and passed the national medical licensing exam.
Developed by the Chinese AI company iFlytek to capture and analyze patient data, the robot called Xiaoyi passed the with a score of 456, which is 96 points above the required mark.
“We will officially launch the robot in March 2018. It is not meant to replace doctors. Instead, it is to promote better people-machine cooperation so as to boost efficiency,” iFlytek chairman Liu Qingfeng told China Daily.
