Epic, Optimum earn top honors in Best of KLAS awards
For the eighth consecutive year, Epic was named the top software suite in the 2018 edition of the Best of KLAS: Software & Services Report, while Optimum Healthcare IT won the award for top overall IT services firm for the second year in a row.
Epic’s dominance of the awards also including being named the top physician practice vendor, winning awards in seven segments (including Patient Portals for Epic MyChart and Acute Care Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for the EpicCare Inpatient EMR) along with being named category leader in both the Retail Pharmacy and Surgery Management segments.
Optimum won in two segments (HIT Advisory Services and HIT Implementation Support and Staffing) and was named category leader in another (Go-Live Support). Last year’s second-biggest winner, Premier, won in only in the Strategy, Growth, & Consolidation Consulting segment.
“Best in KLAS is more than a ranking,” KLAS Research president Adam Gale said in a statement. “It is a recognition of vendors committed to delivering superior solutions. It gives voice to thousands of providers and payers who are demanding better performance, usability and interoperability in healthcare technology.”
Other double award winners include Cerner, athenahealth and Merge. ECG Management Consultants the Overall Best in KLAS for Healthcare Management Consulting Firm.
Another winning streak has developed in the Value-Based Care, Managed Services category, which was won by St. Louis-based Lumeris for the third year in a row.
“Being recognized once again as Best in KLAS is further confirmation Lumeris is making a real difference in driving the shift to value-based care industry wide,” Lumeris chairman and CEO Mike Long said in a statement to HealthExec.
