How AI could change healthcare within 5 years
Many problems in healthcare, from rising costs to inefficient use of available data to administrative burden on physicians, have a common solution, according to Siri cofounder and Health2047 advisor Norman Winarsky, PhD: artificial intelligence, or AI.
Writing in VentureBeat, Winarsky predicts within five years, AI technologies will have made a significant impact on care delivery. One example he offers is AI virtual assistants working with physicians and allowing them to see up to 10 times as many patients.
“Our greatest opportunity for AI-enhancement in the sector is keeping people healthy, rather than waiting to treat them when they are sick. AI virtual assistants will be able to acquire deep knowledge of diet, exercise, medications, emotional and mental state, and more,” he wrote.
He also expects AI to move more advanced healthcare technology to the home and create new tools for diagnosis and treatment. Read more at the link below:
