UnitedHealth could buy Advisory Board’s healthcare division
As a part of a deal to split up consulting and research firm The Advisory Board Company, its healthcare business could be purchased by UnitedHealth, the nation’s largest health insurer.
Bloomberg reported a potential price tag only Advisory Board’s education unit, which makes up a third of the company’s revenue but could be sold to Vista Equity Partners for $1.5 billion. The anonymous sources quoted by Bloomberg said this isn’t a done deal and any confirmation may not come until August due to the “complicated structure” of the transaction.
Both Advisory Board and UnitedHealth declined to comment.
