Partners Urgent Care Continues Expansion in Greater Boston
BOSTON, June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Partners Urgent Care (http://partnersurgentcare.org) today announced the opening of its newest center located in Boston near Boston Common, inside City Place at 137 Stuart Street. This is the sixth Partners Urgent Care location joining centers opened earlier this year in Cambridge at Central Square and the town of Canton in addition to previously opened locations in Brookline, Newton and Watertown. Four additional centers are scheduled to open this fall in Medford, Cambridge at Porter Square, Burlington and Woburn. Partners Urgent Care is a collaboration between Partners HealthCare, an integrated health care system founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, and MedSpring Urgent Care.
"Partners Urgent Care has been offering an affordable and convenient health care option in the communities they serve across the Boston area since 2015," said Gregg S. Meyer, MD, MSc, and Chief Clinical Officer at Partners HealthCare. "The centers have been well received with high marks for the quality of care provided and we look forward to providing more people across Eastern Massachusetts with access to convenient care close to home and work."
Partners Urgent Care provides convenient and affordable medical care to adults and children older than one. The centers are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, including weekends and holidays, and offer treatment for a wide range of illnesses and injuries from coughs and colds to cuts and broken bones. All of the new centers are equipped with digital x-ray and on-site lab capabilities. Unique amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi and snacks and beverages, children's activities and in-room cable TV are also offered.
Walk-ins are welcome and same-day appointments are available at most centers. Patients covered by most commercial and public insurance plans can be seen at any Partners Urgent Care location. All Partners Urgent Care locations are open to everyone and it is not necessary to be an existing patient of Partners HealthCare.
Partners Urgent Care operates with the clinical and quality oversight of Partners HealthCare, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and MedSpring, assuring the highest quality of care. Patients who require follow-up care can be assisted with access to the Partners HealthCare system, or referred back to their primary care physician, other health practice or community health center, as requested.
For non-life threatening conditions, urgent care centers offer a cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency department. Most visits last less than an hour and co-pays are consistent with that of a routine office visit. For conditions threatening a patient's life, limb or vision, an emergency department is the most appropriate setting for care.
