Fortimedix Surgical receives 510(k) clearance for single-port laparoscopic platform

Fortimedix Surgical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its latest product for minimally invasive abdominal laparoscopic surgery.

The FMX314 is the first single-port platform, when paired with a standard 15-millimeter laparoscopic trocar, to offer surgeons a better option when performing procedures in a more comfortable and secure manner. The platform also gives patients peace of mind because of the fewer port-site complications, less pain after surgery, faster recovery and the single port method leaves less cosmetic scars.

"We are very pleased to announce we have secured 510(k) clearance for our platform, as it signifies an important milestone in our quest to deliver on the promise of single-port surgery," said Wout Bijker, CEO of Fortimedix Surgical, in a previous statement
