Apple applies for patent for wearable ECG technology
Apple has applied for a patient for its new wearable device capable of performing an electrocardiogram (ECG) on the wearer.
The new device, which is a further extension of the Apple Watch, is a major endeavor from Apple CEO Tim Cook to enter the healthcare market. It also can be carried within accessories like rings while constantly monitoring the wearer's heart. Apple hopes to introduce a calibration process that makes calculating results no matter where the device is worn on the body.
