Cantel acquires Accutron in midst of CEO turnover
Cantel Medical, a company that delivers infection prevention products and services, has acquired Accutron, a manufacturer of nitrous oxide delivery systems and single-use nasal masks.
Cantel Medical, based in Little Falls, New Jersey, purchased Accutron for approximately $52.6 million to expand its portfolio of infection prevention products, the company said in a statement. In 2015, Accutron posted a revenue of $20.5 million.
“The addition of Accutron's portfolio of high quality, conscious sedation single-use nasal masks and equipment will further differentiate our infection prevention product offering,” said Cantel’s President and CEO Jorgen Hansen in a statement. “Single-use nasal masks are critical to eliminating cross-contamination of infectious pathogens between patients, and remains consistent with our strategy of providing customer solutions aimed at infection prevention and patient safety."
The news of the acquisition came the same day that Cantel named Hansen president and CEO. He succeeds Andrew Krakauer, who will serve as a senior advisor for the company until October.
