Could Sanders' universal healthcare dreams come true in one state?

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ schedule has just opened up, now that he’s no longer campaigning to be the Democratic nominee for president. Some Colorado activists say they know the perfect way he can spend his extra time.

Political organizers there want Sanders to help pass ColoradoCare, a proposed universal health care policy for the state, which is up for a vote in November.

National state-sponsored universal healthcare was a major part of Sanders’ policy platform. Proponents in Colorado said his star power used to campaign for the measure could mean victory for the policy in the fall.
