Martin Health System promotes long-time employee to CEO

Stuart, Florida-based Martin Health System appointed a long-time employee its new president and CEO last week.

Robert Lord Jr. was promoted to the top position after joining Martin Health 18 years ago as vice president and chief legal officer, according to a statement from the company.

Lord will replace Mark Robitaille who worked at Martin Health for 30 years.

After many years of service and playing an instrumental role in the development of the health system, particularly its Tradition Medical Center, Lord was promoted to senior vice president and chief operating officer in 2014.

“During his tenure, Rob has demonstrated proven executive leadership in numerous roles across the health system,” said John Loewenberg, chairman of Martin Health’s board of directors, in a statement. “Rob’s leadership, vision, commitment to excellence and interpersonal skills position him well to be the new chief executive officer of Martin Health.”

Martin Health, which employs 4,500 associates and 130 physicians, serves patients through three hospitals and 13 outpatient sites throughout Martin and St. Lucie counties.
