Twin sisters will test theories on reimplanted frozen ovaries
As reported by NPR, twins Joanne and Sarah Gardner each had an ovary removed and frozen in 2012, with the hope that it could returned to them via surgery when they decided to have children.
Now 44 years old, the twins may be the first otherwise healthy women to undergo this procedure, which was originally developed to preserve fertility among cancer patients.
