CHIME applauds CMS recommendation for 90-day reporting period

After the announcement of the recommendation of the 90-day reporting period by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has offered its support of the decision.

The 90-day reporting period, shortened from a full year, allows for healthcare organizations to more rapidly implement the technological systems that are needed to provide better quality of care and supporting new methods of payment, according to CHIME.

“We are pleased that the today recommended a 90-day reporting period in 2016 for hospitals in the Meaningful Use program,” stated CHIME Board Chair Marc Probst and CHIME President and CEO Russell Branzell.
