Philips introduces a tracking aid to improve senior safety
Royal Philips has developed a way to keep seniors safer in senior living environments with the CarePoint 5.0, a resident safety and wander management solution able to track and assist seniors with the touch of a button.
As the provider of AutoAlert technology, the most used fall-detection technology in the emergency response industry, CarePoint includes both audio and visual cues when confirming to a senior that their alert has been sent. The system, as well as being the first safety system to follow the requirements set by the American National Standards Institution, also offers the 7000 Series AutoAlert automatic fall detection technology.
"CarePoint 5.0 is a truly unique system that allows senior living communities to support their best practices, protocols and management needs in an ever evolving market – showcasing Philips's all-encompassing approach to improve care," said Marcia Conrad-Miller, Senior Director of Product Management, Home Monitoring, Philips. "As communities change and grow, this solution allows for easy modification to help keep seniors safe and independent."
CarePoint, using SmartCare software, is able to keep emergency response coverage to an entire senior living community through wireless receivers and when a resident is in need of assistance the signal that they emit is picked up by the system to pinpoint the exact whereabouts of the senior.
