ProVation MD Tapped by Olympus as Recommended EndoWorks Replacement
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today that its ProVation® MD software for structured gastroenterology procedure documentation and coding has been named by Olympus as one of its recommended replacements for EndoWorks, which is being retired. As a preferred replacement vendor, Wolters Kluwer worked directly with Olympus on a methodology to seamlessly migrate data from EndoWorks to ProVation® MD with minimal impact on clinician time and productivity.
To aid customers impacted by its decision to exit the endowriter market, Olympus has identified ProVation MD and one other software solution as recommended replacements for EndoWorks, which will be phased out over three years. Olympus developed a data export utility specifically to streamline migration of historical data from EndoWorks to the replacement solution. This was made available for licensing to only Wolters Kluwer and the second Olympus-recommended vendor. That is a crucial distinction, as the utility is based on Olympus specifications to enable a more robust and comprehensive transition that is transparent to end users and requires limited assistance from the customer's IT staff.
“In selecting ProVation MD, Olympus recognized that our 20 years as a leader in GI documentation and extensive experience in managing clinical data would significantly benefit the hospitals, surgery centers and GI practices that seek a smooth transition for their endowriter software,” said David Del Toro, Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Documentation, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions. “Wolters Kluwer has worked closely with Olympus to develop a staged data migration methodology available only to the two Olympus-selected vendors. Along with a smooth, disruption-free migration to ProVation MD, we provide unparalleled end user training and world-class customer service throughout the transition to ensure maximum adoption and clinical efficiency.”
The only dedicated structured reporting and coding solution that provides clinically relevant, intuitive software for more accurate and complete documentation of procedures, ProVation MD Gastroenterology allows physicians to efficiently capture robust detail from even the most complex procedures. It then automatically generates clear, complete procedure notes and appropriate reimbursement codes, quickly, easily and without dictation. By automatically applying the reimbursement codes and disseminating critical procedural information, ProVation MD ensures appropriate payment, reduces costs and streamlines quality reporting while improving clinical communication and care coordination.
