MU payments top $30B
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has paid out more than $30 billion in Meaningful Use incentive payments to eligible hospitals and professionals as of March.
Of the total, $20.2 billion was paid through Medicare; $9.4 billion was paid through Medicaid; and $400 million was paid to Medicare Advantage.
According to CMS data, 535,567 active participants had signed up for the incentive program through March. About 429,000 eligible professionals and 4,800 eligible hospitals had received incentive payments as of March.
