ONC telemedicine guide focuses on CAHs, rural areas

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has published a 53-page guide tailored specifically to implementing telehealth in critical access hospitals and rural areas.

The guide, which covers areas from startup and financing to sustainability, aggregates the latest resources about policy considerations, best practices and toolkits. It also offers tips on how organizations can use telehealth to improve outcomes, according to ONC.

The document focuses on concerns raised during a workshop jointly convened by Department of Health & Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Iowa last May.
