Editorial: Let vets receive care where they choose

Veterans have been waiting three months or longer for initial physician appointments during a time when the healthcare ecosystem outside the Department of Veteran Affairs struggles to fill beds and open slots.

The VA Reform Bill allows physicians to seek care outside of the VA system on a temporary basis, but an editorial in Health Affairs argues that it’s high time to let veterans shop for outside care on a permanent basis.
