KLAS survey: Usability ranked as most important feature for EMRs
Nearly 75 percent of providers worldwide reported that clinical usability is more important than every other criteria when choosing an EMR, according to a report from global research firm KLAS.
The firm surveyed healthcare providers around the world to determine which vendors are being selected and why, what criteria are most important and what concerns providers the most about implementing such technology. The desire for clinical usability drives provider decisions and determines which vendors hold the most mindshare, according to the report.
"The surprise in the feedback is the uphill battle that perceived lower cost vendors are facing as providers weigh their selections heavily toward usability and technology, and just how much that battle is benefiting higher cost solutions," said report author Chris Brown in a statement.
