Lana Moriarty joins ONC as director of consumer e-health

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has tapped Lana Moriarty to serve as its acting director for consumer e-health. Moriarty, who previously worked within the Health Resources and Services Administration, is replacing Lygeia Ricciardi, who left in July.

Before working at HRSA, Moriarty worked on gender issues at the World Bank and served as a Peace Corps volunteer.

“Lana’s commitment and impact on addressing gender issues while working with the World Bank and her connection to NHSC clinicians providing access to the nation’s underserved communities will help us here at ONC as we move forward with the goal of increasing consumer engagement and fostering stronger patient-provider partnerships,” said Kimberly Lynch, director of ONC’s Office of Programs & Engagement, in an email to ONC staff, according to Politico.
