PracticeMax Announces Acquisition of Optimum Medical Management

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--PracticeMax, a national provider of medical practice management and technology services, today announced it has acquired Optimum Medical Management (OptiMED) of Lincoln, NE, continuing its expansion of operations in the Midwest.

Under the direction of founder and CEO Valarie Johnston, CPC, CHBME, OptiMED has grown to be one of the largest and well-respected providers of medical billing and practice management services in the greater Lincoln area. Founded in 2001, OptiMED has enabled medical practices to focus on patient care while reducing practice expenses and optimizing revenue cycle performance.

“We are delighted to welcome Valarie and her team into the PracticeMax family. Valarie’s strong background in medical coding, billing and practice management has served her well in growing her business and helping her clients, and we are confident she will be significant asset for PracticeMax and all of the providers we serve,” says Bill Carns, CMPE, CHBME, chief executive officer at PracticeMax.

“With the increasing complexity of the healthcare industry, physicians need access to a greater breadth of technology and services than we could offer on our own,” says Johnston. “PracticeMax has a tremendous reputation and a solid track record of delivering results for the clients they serve, and is the perfect next step for my staff, my clients and everyone involved”.

Carns described the acquisition as another important step in the company’s quest to offer its services across a broad spectrum of medical specialties and technology platforms. “We know that regardless of specialty, providers need access to experienced, trusted advisors who can deliver a broad scope of services and technology. With our diverse customer base, PracticeMax is well suited to serve ACOs, Medical Homes and other integrated delivery systems. The synergy created by this acquisition enhances our ability to offer these solutions to an even broader base of providers.”
