CMS to conduct three weeks of ICD-10 acknowledgment testing

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is planning three weeks of ICD-10 acknowledgment testing for covered providers.

The agency plans to collect data about the testing to ascertain industry readiness for ICD-10 implementation, according to a notice. All covered entities must be fully compliant by Oct. 1, 2015.

The three testing periods are:

  • Nov. 17-21, 2014
  • March 2-6, 2015
  • June 1-5, 2015

“These testing weeks will allow trading partner’s access to Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and Common Electronic Data Interchange (CEDI) for testing with real-time help desk support,” according to CMS. The event will be conducted virtually and will be posted on the CMS website, the CEDI website and each MAC's website.
