One of Nation’s Largest GI Practices Selects Greenway Integrated Information Solutions to Support Coordinated Care, Growth

CARROLLTON, Ga.--One of the largest gastroenterology (GI) group practices in the country, Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates (AGA), has chosen Greenway Health’s flagship PrimeSUITE® electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solution. AGA joins the growing community of specialty practices taking advantage of Greenway’s innovative and easy-to-use technology to streamline highly specialized workflows for improved efficiency, information exchange and care coordination.

With over 75 physicians and more than 35 clinics and nine endoscopy centers throughout metro Atlanta and north Georgia, AGA needed a scalable information solution that could support gastroenterology-specific workflows while improving clinical and financial outcomes for healthier patients and a healthier practice.

“We knew we needed a new system and information partner that would enable us to meet today’s requirements — including care coordination, consumer-driven healthcare and value-based medicine — and empower us to lead change, rather than merely respond to it,” said Steven J. Morris, MD, managing partner for AGA. “We found that in Greenway.”

Greenway® partners with physicians and other clinicians to develop and update an ever-growing library of thousands of clinical templates to support the unique needs of dozens of specialties nationwide, including gastroenterology. Studies consistently show that the effectiveness and use of EHRs is directly related to how well the solutions are adaptable to a provider’s particular workflow, and Greenway solutions have among the highest point-of-care usability and clinician adoption rates in the industry.

“We’re helping solve one of the biggest issues facing physicians today,” stated Greenway CEO Tee Green. “That is, finding a solution suited to their specialty that can easily adjust to provider preferences and enable them to rapidly document a complete and relevant note within established workflows.” Greenway solutions also enable providers to mine rich EHR data to meet increasing analytics and reporting requirements for emerging value-based payment models, while keeping their staffing and overall operating costs at optimum levels.

Richard Eells, AGA senior analyst of information technology who led its selection process, said, “Fundamentally, we were impressed with Greenway’s people and product. But we ultimately selected Greenway and PrimeSUITE based on four criteria: reputation for service and support, commitment to GI, intuitive technology to help our physicians successfully document at the point of care, and implementation process and scale.”

PrimeSUITE will be the single-database foundation for AGA’s demographic, insurance and clinical information. Together with PrimeSUITE’s cloud-based PrimeEXCHANGE interoperability hub, Greenway solutions will support the secure flow of patient data between AGA facilities and other providers, hospitals, labs and payers. AGA also will use PrimeSUITE’s mobile capabilities and advanced speech understanding to provide physicians with a variety of data-entry options. An integrated patient portal will empower AGA patients to better engage in their own health, as well as help the practice meet standards for receiving federal EHR incentive dollars under meaningful use.
