Victims of healthcare data breaches exceed 30M
Since 2009, 944 large-scale data breaches have compromised the personal and health information of more than 30 million patients, according to an analysis in Washington Post’s Wonkblog.
The breaches cost the healthcare industry $5.6 billion every year—and in the meantime stakeholders continue to struggle to prevent and respond to such occurrences.
