Orion Health™ Rhapsody® Integration Engine Selected by Leading Healthcare Organizations
Boston, MA – June 17, 2014 – Orion Health, a leading global, privately-held eHealth software organization, today announced that Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN) have signed four year contracts to implement Orion Health’s Rhapsody Integration Engine®. Rhapsody enables the secure electronic sharing of patient data, achieving real-time connectivity from any system to any system, streamlining processes and reducing operational costs for effective care coordination.
CHLA, southern California’s largest pediatric hospital, will use Rhapsody to simplify the complexity of information sharing across its organization, allowing providers to securely access the information they need and improve the quality of care. WISHIN, an independent HIE, will leverage Rhapsody as part of its initiative to build a statewide health information network to connect physicians, clinics, hospitals and clinical laboratories across Wisconsin.
“With vast amounts of data across multiple platforms, Rhapsody enables us to rapidly integrate our diverse application portfolio,” said TJ Malseed, Associate Vice President and Chief Applications Officer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
WISHIN is building a statewide health information network across Wisconsin to promote and improve the health of individuals and communities. Collectively, WISHIN clients currently represent more than 750 points of care in 56 Wisconsin counties. “We see our partnership with Orion as a strategic investment,” said Joe Kachelski, CEO of WISHIN. “The Rhapsody Integration Engine is a force-multiplier for us. It complements our existing resources and gives WISHIN more opportunity to control the scheduling and pace of client onboarding.”
“We have been seeing an increase in organizations that are outgrowing their legacy integration systems and are looking for an integration engine technology that will take their care coordination to the next level,” said Harish Panchal, Global Vice President of Sales, Intelligent Integration, at Orion Health. “The range of clients we are working with is a testament to the universal value of Rhapsody. The solution provides a comprehensive set of tools to simplify healthcare integration and meet the requirements of each unique healthcare environment.”
Rhapsody supports healthcare organizations and partners to quickly and easily progress toward interoperability between healthcare IT systems, regardless of technology or standards. It is used by thousands of organizations here in the United States and around the world, including hospitals, IDNs, public health agencies, health information exchanges (HIE), and health plans. The integration engine provides comprehensive support for an extensive range of communication protocols and message formats, and helps interface analysts and hospital IT administrators reduce their workload while meeting complex technical challenges. As well, Rhapsody provides administrators with improved personal notification options, scheduling tools and real-time activity streams to ensure important updates are received by the appropriate person.
