Roy Schoenberg, MD, MPH, CEO of American Well® Receives American Telemedicine Association Industry Council Award
May 20, 2014 -- Roy Schoenberg, MD, MPH, CEO of American Well Systems, today received the Ninth Annual American Telemedicine Association Industry Council Award for Leadership in the Advancement of Telemedicine at the 19th Annual ATA Meeting & Exposition, held in Baltimore, MD.
The award recognizes Dr. Schoenberg for his leadership and championship at local, national, and international levels in promoting and advocating for telemedicine/telehealth and e-health. The award is sponsored by the American Telemedicine Association and AT&T.
Dr. Schoenberg is a long-time champion of telemedicine and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Telemedicine Association. He is a national advocate for the safe use of technology to bring quality healthcare into the homes of all Americans. Dr. Schoenberg co-founded American Well and introduced the technology that today powers its systems and serves the entire spectrum of the nation’s healthcare stakeholders – health plans, hospital systems, employers, retailers, physicians and patients at large. Under his lead, American Well has made sweeping advances in telehealth by making it instantly available through a range of online devices, eliminating key barriers for healthcare access. Earlier in 2014, American Well was named “Telehealth Company of the Year” by Frost & Sullivan, for the innovation and excellence of its services to the American healthcare industry.
