Rush Health launches HIE

Rush Health, a Chicago-based clinically integrated network of physicians and hospitals, is launching its own health information exchange (HIE) that will use advanced population health software to improve care quality, care coordination and patient outcomes, according to an announcement.

The HIE will link Rush Health physician practices and hospitals to near real-time clinical, operational and financial data aggregated from multiple EMR systems and its enterprise data warehouse.

“The near real-time data asset also will serve as the foundation for a wide range of advanced analytics and reporting applications that support Rush Health’s quality, performance, accountable care and population health initiatives,” according to the press release.

Rush Health’s HIE also will share data with external organizations, including payers, national registries and the MetroChicago HIE.
